During this course, I grew in understanding of various health care organizations and groups’ organizational structures, policies and procedures including change management and strategic goals as I looked at Mayo Clinic’s governance structure including Board of Directors and leadership. I also walked through the decision process of joining an ACO and the decision process of outsourcing services. By looking at outsourcing, we evaluated the hospital’s operations and came up with plans for improvement impacting cost, quality and operations. We evaluated mitigating risks, a market analysis, milestones and strategic impact.

In the fourth assignment, I act as a Board of Director’s member who is evaluating the outsourcing options presented to me. I look at the need and options for ICU intensivists.
